In national policy that encourages the promotion of innovation and exploitation of results of scientific research and technology through the management of Innovation and Technology Transfer, the National School of Engineers of Sfax (NSES) and Sfax University have set up a new centre dedicated to this mission. It is the University Centre of Management and Technology Transfer of Sfax (UCMTTS) located at the National School of Engineers of Sfax.

The centre was augured by MR. Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research March 4, 2010.

It is a platform for collection, exhibition and marketing of innovative research out put of Sfax, located within the National School of Engineers of Sfax, the principal actor in the dynamics of innovation in the university landscape, the centre is thus in the immediate vicinity of the innovation incubator of Sfax, FSS and ISBS.

The University Centre of Management and Technology Transfer of Sfax is the focal point of any initiatives for identifying and exploiting the results of University research.

-It is a permanent Show Room for all innovative products from RL, RU, FSP thesis and the enterprises created by the innovation incubator of Sfax.

-It hosts and runs regular workshops on site with a strong industrial presence and university involved, eg: robotics, pollution, energy , mechanical…

-It will have human resources and equipment for the data base management of data, conducting investigations, diagnoses of valuation, marketing operations…in addition to the governing body.

-It pooled the expertise of many stakeholders and structures :( CRIC, CUIES, CA, AUE…).

-It will establish close links with the structures and spin-off of financing innovation. It will make the standby on the formalities and legal news for the creation of innovative enterprises.

-It will house a library of testimonials from contractors and will also manage the certification programs.

The University Centre of Management and Technology Transfer of Sfax approach focuses on four main areas :

-Agribusiness and Biotechnology.

-Environment and Energy Saving.

-Microelectronics and Nanotechnology.

-ICT.

This approach is based on:

-Research potential at NESS and University-wide.

-Upgrading and technology transfer.

-Networks of academic and industrial partners.

TEMPUS type projects as “University Chair on Innovation, UNCHAIN” and type Program Quality Support as “Platform of Sustainable Development” at NSES aim to strengthen the position of the University Centre of Management and Technology transfer of Sfax in the field of Innovation and Technology Transfer in the future, and focus efforts on identifying the needs of economic operators involved in strategic sectors.
